PASTELMAT PORTRAITS
"What is Pastelmat?"
"Pastelmat" refers to the surface that the portrait has been drawn on. It is sturdier than velour, with a tooth that's similar to fine sandpaper. This surface is excellent for more detailed portraits that require a lot of intricacy, such as horse bridles with metal chains, excessive tack or markings, or highly complex backgrounds. The colours often appear more vibrant than velour, with the portrait having a more crisp, hair for hair appearance. I love to use this surface for my most detailed and intensive work, and favour it quite heavily for feline portrait orders.
